Ingredients for Growth - The Right Pacing

There is a wonderful statement in the Orientation section of the Resonance Repatterning® system. It reads:

“I pace myself, staying in rhythm with my own best timing, so I cope with challenges as positive opportunities for extraordinary outcomes.”

Talk to any athlete, any team, any coach and they will tell you that the key to success is to play your game at your own right pace, and that the person/team who wins the match is the one who succeeds in imposing their right pace on the game and their opponent.

I have been thinking about this a lot lately as the pace of events in certain areas of my life has increased and I have had to adapt to it. I’ve realized that the beauty of this statement and resonating with it is that the pace of events outside of our control is irrelevant. What matters is if we are pacing ourselves and staying in rhythm with our own best timing, and this is entirely subjective.

Have you ever been in a life-threatening situation? Have you noticed that time seems to slow down? 71% of people who have experienced an accident, in fact, experience an altered passage of time (Why Time Slows Down during an Accident, Frontiers for Young minds, July 6, 2017). Or what about when you’re doing something you love and time just seems to slow down or fly by, and next time you look at the clock, you can’t believe it’s only been 10 minutes or hours have gone by?

When we are in right pacing and timing, everything seems effortless and challenges easily overcome, we enjoy ourselves and approach life with curiosity and joy. So next time you feel rushed off your feet or overwhelmed by any situation, try telling yourself, “I pace myself, staying in rhythm with my own best timing so I cope with challenges as positive opportunities for extraordinary outcomes.” Breathe deeply, do any of the Spiral Up options you remember, and see if that changes your perspective. It works every time for me.

With love and gratitude,

Sophia
