The focus of our March Group Session will be acceptance, understanding and spiritual development. While it can be challenging at times, I imagine most of us can find it in our heart to view others with understanding, acceptance and compassion, but how many of us extend that courtesy to ourselves? Do you find your inner self-critic very loud? Where in your life or with whom are you unable to access your compassion and understanding? In what way are you avoiding spiritual growth?

Our April Group Session will focus on our energy, health, drive and vitality. Without an abundance in this area, our life becomes a struggle and we are hard pressed to live our purpose. Do you enjoy high energy levels? Are you in good health? In what way do you tax your body and deplete your energy reserves? In what way are you not moving forward in life?

Most countries in the world celebrate Mother’s Day in May, so our Group Session in May will focus on nurturing and mothering. In the Chinese Five Element tradition, these are primarily qualities of the Earth Element, but in the Ayurvedic tradition of India, they are also qualities associated with our Air (Heart) Chakra. For most of us our mother is someone we love deeply and it is often difficult to admit that she was not perfect. However, mothers are also human and no human can be perfect all the time. For some of us, our mother was very obviously imperfect, neglectful, or even abusive. We all have needs that were not met in childhood and we may continue to resonate with those needs not being met in the present. In what way did your mother not meet your needs? What were your mother’s weaknesses? Do you see those weaknesses in yourself? In what way do you not nurture yourself? In what way do you not nurture others? If you are a mother, in what way do you not meet the needs of your child?

In many western countries, Father’s Day falls in June, so fathering and valuing ourselves and others will be the focus of June’s Group Session. In the Chinese Five Element tradition, these are primarily qualities of the Metal Element. I once heard someone say that the role of a father is to take their child by the hand and introduce them to the world with love, joy, and pride in them. How many of us had fathers who understood this? Did your father take pride in you and your accomplishments? Did he support you and teach you with love and understanding? Or was he an authoritarian figure brought out to discipline you with disapproval and threats when you didn’t obey your mother? In what way or circumstances do you fail to value yourself, your gifts and talents? In what way do you fail to value others? If you are a father, in what way do you not meet the needs of your child for approval, support, and valuing?

The focus of August will be confidence, abundance, power and success. Are you able to appreciate what you have in your life? Are you able to assert your power in a coherent way? Do you give up your power? Do you struggle with success? In what way would you like your life to be more abundant?

The focus of September will be work and career and looking at the qualities that impact this area of our lives, such as organisation, planning, vision, and focus. In the Chinese Five Element tradition, these are primarily qualities of the Wood Element, but in the Ayurvedic tradition of India, they are also qualities associated with our Solar Plexus Chakra. How are you with organisation, vision and planning? Are you able to focus on your work? Are you moving forward in your career as you would like? What would you improve about these qualities and areas of your life?

The focus of October will be our charisma and communication skills. In the Chinese Five Element tradition, these are primarily qualities of the Fire Element, but in the Ayurvedic tradition of India, they are also qualities associated with our Ether (Pelvic) Chakra. Do you struggle with communication? What about charisma? Are you able to magnetically attract and inspire others? How would you like to see your charisma and communication improve? The focus of November will be our passion and creativity. In the Chinese Five Element tradition, these are primarily qualities of the Fire Element, but in the Ayurvedic tradition of India, they are also qualities associated with our Water (Pelvic) Chakra. Do you struggle with accessing or expressing your creativity freely? Are you able to find passion in your work, your hobbies, your love life? How would you like to see your passion and creativity improve?
